We think our website is a great resource for children interested in writing poetry or who want to see poems by other children. This site (and our book) was nurtured out of Ian’s love for poetry and teaching, and Mike’s love for design and children’s illustration. This dynamic combination, we hope, gives us a great opportunity to provide a children’s learning resource which is both fun and entertaining. An example of our, and the children’s work can be seen on the ‘Your Poems’ and ‘Our Poems’ pages, and more about the ‘Poems, Beans and Chips!’ book can be found on ‘The Book’ page.
Ebooks coming soon and Ian becomes a headteacher
The first bit of exciting news is that in 2014 we will be releasing three more ebooks to join our current 'Poems for SEAL, PSHCE and Assemblies', available NOW on Amazon. Our succesful 'Poems, Beans and Chips!' book will be converted into an ebook, and additionally we will be releasing new books 'Grandog' (for 7-9 year-olds) and 'Eascaping Ellen' – for 7-11 year olds – both as ebooks. Please visit again for updates.
The second bit of exciting news is that the author, Ian Moore, is now a headteacher! He hopes you all enjoyed your summer holidays and wishes you an exciting year at school.
Emily Ross, aged 6, has written a lovely Christmas Poem called Christmastime which Mike has illustrated and is displayed here.
Other newly-submitted poems are The Fly by Beatrice Day and Brave Soldiers by Caitlyn Wright. Also a bullying poem called Invisible by Roisin Muirhead, and My Kenning Poem by Daisy Keeling. Take a moment to read what these talented young writers have sent through!
If you think you could write a good poem, why not submit it to us, we always look forward to receiving poems from our young audience and some, illustrated by Mike, are displayed on the ‘Your Poems’ page. Yours could be too! Go to our ‘Your Poems’ page to find out more.
